Pregnancy Woes

Well, I’ve passed the “half-way” point. (Assuming he comes on or before his due date…) And, as exciting is that is, mine comes with more annoyances. When I was pregnant with the girls, I was on bed rest, got a blood clot, and was on blood thinner for the last few weeks of pregnancy. Not only did it affect my delivery, but it has, and will, affect any subsequent pregnancy. Because they can’t guarantee that it was only related to carrying twins and bed rest, I have to take preventative measures throughout my pregnancy. So far I only have to take a baby aspirin once a day. No so bad. However, now that I’m passed 20 weeks (21 weeks today), my doctor has prescribed wearing medical, supportive pantyhose. Don’t they look awesome?! The description is great too. “Medevin Elegance light support stockings combine sheer beauty and therapeutic support for tired, aching legs.” Yes, I will definitely be wearing these for the “beauty” factor.CIMG1833

When she first “recommended” I start wearing them around 20 weeks, I kind of thought it was optional. And I suppose I could still choose not to wear them. However, if I get another blood clot, it could be life-risking. (And if it isn’t, Jason would probably kill me anyway!) So, for the next 19 weeks or so, I get to wear tight-fitting, sweat-inducing, uncomfortable, unattractive pantyhose every day, all day. And if you don’t live in the bay area, let me tell you that we still have summer weather. It’s supposed to be around 90 degrees tomorrow! (Did I mention we don’t have AC?) *sigh* The sacrifices we make for our children…

Don’t even bother with pants. Those bad boys need to make their own statement! My girls have been asking about yours….

  3. Been There! But I was on bed rest in the hospital for 2 weeks as well. There are so many types of compression hose. At least they are white and cotton, like my hospital issues. Keep wearing them so that you don’t get spider veins! I sell different types on my site. Check it out when you get a chance! Good luck with the second half.
