Birthday Weekend

Because Jason was going to be out of town for my birthday, Ashleigh and Elizabeth (his sisters) decided to drive out from Utah to visit me. And with the help of facebook, my sister Holly saw that they were coming and decided to come along too. So, although Jason wasn’t around, I had one of the most fun and tiring weekends ever! The girls couldn’t all miss class on Friday, so they left at about 1pm and arrived at 1:30 am. So, to say the least, we started the weekend tired, and never recooperated. (In fact, as I’m writing this, they are still driving home, and most definitely still tired). Saturday, we did the usually city sight-seeing. I took the girls to San Francisco; Pier 39, ate Boudin’s sourdough bread bowls for lunch, went to Ghiradelli’s for ice cream sundaes, and then walked the Golden Gate Bridge. We took some leftover bread to feed the birds (which I later saw a sign telling us not to) and quickly realized why we weren’t supposed to. Kendall ripped off a giant piece of bread, and we watched a bird attempt to eat it whole. We’re pretty sure we were the last people to ever see that bird alive.
After church on Sunday, we went to Half Moon Bay. I have never seen 3 people so happy to be at a beach in my life! I was so worried it was going to be a little chilly, I kept asking if they all had sweaters. Well, I didn’t take into account that they’ve been used to 7 degrees… so even though it was a little windy, 70 and sunny to them was practically Hawaii. They were wishing they had brought their suits!
Be sure to check out all the pictures, and if I can figure it out, I’ll upload some videos as well.
Elaine, I’m so glad you were able to party on your birthday, even though Jason wasn’t around. It sounds like it was a blast. Your girls are adorable! I can’t believe how big they are!
Happy belated birthday! Sounds like you guys had a wonderful time celebrating your b-day!
